Globalization Webquest: Examination of The Developing World
Introduction
 

In this assignment students will be assigned the role of an agent of a multi-national corporation looking to invest their company's capital in a developing world country. This agent must report back to their company about a variety of things about a particular country and hopefully convince their employer to invest their resources there.

Task (What students must do to complete this assignment)

There are three (3) tasks to complete:

I. Using the resources below write a two (2) to three page typewritten summary that includes:

A. Historical background of the country focusing in on its colonial past

B. The geography of the country that includes which part of the world the country is in.

C. Important facts about the people who live there. This can include facts about their culture, religion, etc.

D. What kind of government does it have? How does it manage its economy?

E. How are people treated in the country? Are there human rights abuses?

F. What is the relationship between the country and International lending agencies?

G. How has the country welcomed transnational capital?

H. Why is the country a place to invest in?

Creating A Three-Fold Brochure with Microsoft Word

If you are using the latest version of Microsoft Word you can select from 12 three-fold broshure templates. These templates are accompanied by a "Brochure Wizard" that helps insert text and images into the different folds of your brochure.

when you start Word, look at the "Project Gallery - New". In the column on the left there will be a triangle next tot he words, "Business Forms". click there and see "Brochures". Click there and about 12 different types of three-fold brochures will appear in the gallery on the right. Select one and use the Wizard that will appear on your screen to insert the text and images you have already assembled into you brochure.

Special Note: Many home computers come with Microsoft Works already installed. Works and Word are very different applications. This section attempts to provide some instructions for MS Word, not MS Works.
